Our chosen Charity of the Year, Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, makes a vital impact by supporting children across the region, providing essential services and care to improve their lives while visiting the hospital.
Giving back to our local community is at the heart of our business, and our CSR strategy is rooted in our core value of Believing in People. We recognise that by empowering our people, supporting our communities, and protecting the environment, we create a positive impact that benefits everyone. Our CSR approach is built around four main priorities, ensuring our efforts align with our values and our business goals.
Our CSR commitments run across three areas, which we regularly review and update to make sure we’re doing the right thing for our community and our planet.
Providing two paid charity days annually for every employee, encouraging active involvement in meaningful causes.
Partnering with our Charity of the Year, fundraising through events like Snowdon climbs, community volunteering, and local initiatives supporting those in need.
Driving sustainability through recycling and EV schemes contributing to a 386,473 tCO₂ carbon offset, and supporting our team with mental health first aiders and an Employee Assistance Programme.
We are committed to supporting causes that matter to our people and our community. Each year, we appoint a Charity of the Year—this year it’s Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Charity—and dedicate our fundraising and volunteering efforts to them.
Highlights include:
Staff participation in climbing Snowdon to raise funds.
Serving meals at Birmingham City Mission’s Soup Kitchen.
Wrapping and donating Christmas gifts for children in need with Birmingham City Mission.
Attending Careers fairs at local schools, participating in practice interviews with year 11 students.
Seasonal charity initiatives such as Christmas Jumper Day, Red Nose Day, hamper drives for local families in need, and fundraising team quizzes, bake-offs, and football matches.
