Shift Electrician Birmingham
Shift Pattern: 2 Days (7am–7pm), 2 Nights (7pm–7am), 4 Days Off
⏰ 39.375 hours per week
Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 + 22% Shift Allowance
Overview Working a rotating shift pattern of 2 days, 2 nights and 4 days off, you will deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a live healthcare estate. This is a permanent position offering stability, a structured shift rota and an enhanced shift allowance (22% of basic salary). There is no on-call requirement.
Key Responsibilities - Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the hospital estate
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults including trip circuits, sockets, lighting systems and small power
- Test and maintain emergency lighting systems and nurse call systems
- Undertake general electrical maintenance, small installations and improvement works
- Interpret drawings, specifications and technical instructions without supervision
- Ensure all works are completed in line with contract KPIs and statutory compliance standards
- Maintain services to the NHS Trust within a live, operational environment
Qualifications & Experience Essential:
- Approved Electrical Apprenticeship
- AM2
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382-18)
- Relevant Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (C&G / EAL / NVQ equivalent)
Other Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to pass a Standard DBS check
